❓ Does TCL own SunPower?

 

Not exactly. TCL owns the majority stake (59.6%) in Maxeon Solar Technologies, which makes the SunPower-branded panels and holds key solar patents. TCL also controls SunPower’s brand rights outside the U.S. through its new unit, TCL SunPower Global.

However, in the U.S., the SunPower brand is now operated independently by Complete Solaria, following SunPower’s bankruptcy and restructuring in 2024. So while TCL plays a major role internationally, SunPower in the U.S. is no longer under its control.
